People from Bann Thung Ji, Moo 8, Thung Kwaw Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang Province reported to her about the deforestation in the connecting area between Muang, Muang Pan, and jae Hom District, Lampang. Moreover, they asked for the career promotion for the people to earn extra money. Therefore, Queen Sirikit met with the 3rd Army Area Commander (Lt. Gen. Thanom Watcharaput) and Lampang Governor (Mr. Sahas Phinthusaenee) to set the corrective measure. As a result, the 3rd Army Area together with Lampang Province, and the relevant government agencies set the two-phase approach to resolve the problem.
Short-term solution: the 3rd Army Area, Lampang Province, and the relevant government agencies arranged the personnel to guard the area such as having the checkpoint and patrol, and the additional measures. Consequently, the deforestation problem mitigated.
Long-term solution: organized the royal project to develop the connecting area between Muang, Muang Pan, And Jae Hom Distruct, Lampanag Province, which was shortly called “Bann Thung Ji Royal Project”.
Moreover, on 26 April 1996, Queen Sirikit donated her own budget 5,000,000 Baht to set up ten weaving house training centers in the northern region which the 3rd Army Area assigned Lam[pang province to be responsible for the operation of four centers in Muang Pan District with the budget of 2,000,000 Bath:
- Bann Thung Ji Moo.8, Thung Kwaw Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang
- Bann Sri Don Moon, Moo.2, Chae Son Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang
- Bann Kluay, Moo.2, Hua Muang Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang
- Bann Muser Baan Rai, Moo.4, Hua Muang Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang
The construction started on April 1996 and completed and started operation on 12 August 1996. Later, in 1997, more budget was put to the construct another training center, Bann Pa Kha Santisuk, Moo.1, Chae Son Sub-district, Muang Pan District, Lampang, which the construction completed on 15 jan 1997.
